WaterISAC to Host Flu Planning and Preparedness Webinar

WaterISAC will host a pandemic influenza planning and preparedness webinar that will focus on lessons learned from last year’s outbreak.

The webinar will be held Wednesday, September 29 at 1:00 pm Eastern Time. It is designed specifically for water and wastewater utility personnel who are faced with challenges posed by the threat of a pandemic.

Participants will hear from an array of water sector partners including NAWC Security and Safety Committee member Jim Wollbrinck, San Jose Water Company ; the California Department of Public Health (CA DPH); the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ); the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and U.S. EPA. The following perspectives will be offered:

  • Update on pandemic influenza from the healthcare perspective;
  • State planning and preparedness efforts in partnership with utilities, and
  • Utility lessons learned from planning and preparing for pandemic influenza.

The webinar will include a Q&A session and will also introduce participants to helpful resources on WaterISAC to enhance their planning and preparedness activities for pandemic flu and other incidents.

The webinar, which will be recorded and archived for future access, is open to all WaterISAC Pro subscribers who may register by going to the WaterISAC website and following the instructions under the “News and Events” section.
