The National Association of Water Companies Announces “Living Water Awards” Social Media Initiative at 2012 NAWC Water Summit

10/08/2012

The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) today announced the launch of the “NAWC Living Water Awards,” a program intended to recognize outstanding private water industry professionals who are “living water” through their extraordinary commitment to quality, service and community. The program was announced today at the 2012 NAWC Water Summit in Miami, Florida.

Beginning on October 15, 2012, this year-long initiative will allow water industry professionals to nominate colleagues and co-workers for recognition, be they environmentalists who have championed water conservation – administrators who have saved municipalities money through successful public-private partnerships – or employees who have volunteered their time to make a difference in their communities.

“The ‘NAWC Living Water Awards’ will recognize the people who contribute an extra effort to provide an essential resource to their communities,” said Michael Deane, executive director, NAWC. “The private water industry is moving water forward every day with the help of dedicated professionals, innovative thinkers, inspiring leaders and engaged environmentalists, and we look forward to recognizing their accomplishments.”

Every two months, members and friends of the NAWC will be encouraged to submit their nominations for recognition on the NAWC Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MovinH2OForward). The bimonthly finalist with the most Facebook “likes” will win a monetary prize, and a grand prize winner will be selected at the end of the initiative.
