Cal Water’s Scott Bailey receives NAWC Living Water Award

The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) is pleased to announce that California Water Service Company’s Scott Bailey has been selected to receive an NAWC Living Water Award. Bailey is the seventh private water professional to be recognized through this program, which was established in 2012 to celebrate the exemplary employees of NAWC member companies.

Bailey is a leader in the community and for the community. For the past 27 years he has worked for Cal Water, where he is now a district manager and goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that residents in and around his designated service area of Selma and Visalia, California have access to clean, safe drinking water. In addition to his day job, Bailey volunteers with the American Legion, Rotary Club, Adventist Health Foundation and Selma Cares.

If that wasn’t enough, Bailey arrives at the Second Chance Animal Shelter at 4 am daily to volunteer until 6:45 am before heading to work. He has been volunteering for the shelter since 2005 and now serves on the board of directors. He was also instrumental in opening a new shelter to better serve the needs of the community.

“Scott Bailey is a prime example of a water industry professional who serves his community on and off the job and I congratulate him and Cal Water on this achievement. The NAWC leadership is privileged to represent an industry with dedicated individuals making a difference in their communities. Through the Living Water Awards, we have been able to tell the stories of the exceptional individuals who are delivering clean, safe drinking water to their communities every day. Bailey truly represents the best of the private water industry and we look forward to continuing to recognize these outstanding individuals,” said Michael Deane, NAWC executive director.

The NAWC Living Water Awards program is an ongoing initiative to recognize private water industry professionals who are “living water” through their extraordinary commitment to quality, service and community. Any employee of an NAWC member company can participate and nominate a peer. All nominations are submitted by completing the simple online forms. During each round, two finalists will be chosen by a selection committee and announced on NAWC’s Facebook page. The finalist with the most Facebook "likes" on their profile will win.
