No business can survive without a sustainable water supply. A typical household uses 260 gallons of water every day, making our nation's water footprint among the largest of any country in the world. Ninety-five percent of American voters value water over any other service they receive, including heat and electricity (Value of Water survey, ITT Corp).
Although Americans value water, and consume a lot of it, few people realize what's required to treat and deliver that water every day or how wastewater is cleaned so it can be safely reused or returned to the environment.
At the NAWC, we are committed to working with elected leaders at the federal, state and local levels who go the extra mile. Now is the time to support the policies and infrastructure projects that keep moving water forward so all of us can work together to improve quality of life, do our best for the environment, create jobs and stimulate the economy.
