PHILADELPHIA (December 22, 2020) The National Association of Water Companies issued the following statement from President and CEO Robert F. Powelson, commending Congress for including low-income water assistance funding in the bipartisan COVID relief bill:

“On behalf of the 73 million Americans who count on America’s water companies for the reliable delivery of safe, clean drinking water and wastewater services, I commend Congress for including $638 million in low-income water assistance in the latest COVID relief and government spending bill,” said NAWC President and CEO Robert F. Powelson. “This kind of assistance is needed now more than ever to ensure low-income customers have uninterrupted access to critical water services needed to combat the pandemic.
