NAWC Campaign Highlights Potential for Industry Collaboration in Build Back Better

For immediate release:

PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 20, 2021) – The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) has launched a new digital campaign to highlight America’s water companies and why the regulated water industry is a valuable partner in addressing the priorities outlined in the Biden Administration’s plans to Build Back Better. NAWC members serve more than 73 million Americans every day and the top 10 members alone invest nearly $3.7 billion annually into their water and wastewater infrastructure.

“This is a critical moment for America’s water future that calls for all hands on deck in navigating the priorities and challenges around urgently needed investments in our nation’s water and wastewater infrastructure,” said NAWC President and CEO Robert F Powelson. “The regulated water industry stands ready to work with lawmakers and regulators to find effective solutions to improve critical drinking water and wastewater systems that millions of families, businesses and countless others rely on every day.”

The campaign, now live on Twitter and LinkedIn, drives traffic back to a new landing page that details how NAWC members have put safe and reliable water first for more than 125 years. Members are proven water experts who consistently invest in their water systems to ensure they are maintained properly and, also to implement advanced technologies in water quality and safety.

Efforts to strengthen and improve American water infrastructure will directly impact efforts to advance public health, environmental justice, water equity, and other critical components of President Biden’s agenda for a healthier nation. Leveraging the professional expertise of NAWC and NAWC’s more than 100 member companies would help ensure America’s water infrastructure becomes the standard by which water is judged worldwide.
