PHILADELPHIA (January 20, 2021) In response to the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, National Association of Water Companies President and CEO Robert F. Powelson issued the following statement:

“On behalf of the National Association of Water Companies and our member companies, I’d like to extend my congratulations to President Biden and Vice President Harris on their inauguration amidst this truly historic chapter in our nation’s history.

We look forward to working with the new administration in their efforts to modernize the water grid and advance major improvements in the quality of water services and infrastructure in America. Our member companies have been leading the charge on infrastructure investment and the deployment of new technologies for over a century as part of our steadfast commitment to providing clean, safe and reliable water services.

COVID-19 has underscored the critical role that America’s water companies play in promoting public health and further demonstrated the benefits of investor-owned utilities’ access to the capital and expertise needed to ensure uninterrupted water services. As we continue to champion this work, we look forward to collaborating with the new administration as a valuable partner in the fight to solve our nation’s water challenges.”
