NAWC Applauds EPA Lead Pipe Replacement Regulations
The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) final regulations requiring drinking water systems to identify and replace lead pipe within 10 years is an investment in our future, according to the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC).
NAWC President and CEO Robert F. Powelson issued the following statement on the regulations:
“NAWC applauds the EPA’s efforts to eliminate lead service lines from the nation’s drinking water systems. Establishing equality across all drinking water systems when it comes to lead service lines means consumer peace of mind when they turn on the tap.
“Proactively working to remove tens of thousands of lead service lines, regulated, private water companies are committed to continuing their efforts to provide access to drinking water that is safe, reliable and affordable. Lead service line replacement will continue to be a national priority for NAWC member companies as we work to ensure the safety of our communities’ drinking water.”
