Who we are
The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) was founded in 1895 by a handful of small water companies.
Today, NAWC has members located throughout the nation, ranging in size from companies that own, operate, or partner with hundreds of utilities in multiple states, to individual utilities that serve a few thousand customers.
What we do
Our members own rate- and environmentally-regulated companies that operate drinking water and wastewater systems.
These companies were built by men and women who engineered solutions that 73 million Americans trust to safeguard public health, promote environmental stewardship and deliver safe, reliable and affordable water year after year.
Who we are
Moving the water industry forward
As our nation’s population continues to grow and increasing pressure is placed on our resources, communities need the experience of our members more than ever to protect public health, promote environmental stewardship and deliver sustainable solutions.
The expertise of NAWC members in the developing and implementing technology and replacing aging infrastructure, will have a profound impact on people, employers and the environment.
Safe and reliable water service is the lifeblood of our nation – essential to the survival of every individual, family and business.
