(PHILADELPHIA) – The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) announced today that Ted Stiger has joined its team as the Senior Director of Public Affairs.

“Ted brings an incredible array of leadership skills and experience that will only help us bolster our efforts to advocate for regulated, private water customers and support our member companies on Capitol Hill and beyond,” said NAWC President and CEO Robert F. Powelson. “We are thrilled to welcome Ted to our dynamic team. His experience and knowledge of the water industry will be a great asset as we work to ensure access to safe, reliable water that is affordable.”

Stiger, who was named as one of Washington, D.C.’s top lobbyists in 2024 by The Hill, joins NAWC after serving as the chief external affairs and policy officer for the Rural Community Assistance Partnership Inc. (RCAP) where he was responsible for the organization’s national policy, legislative, and regulatory efforts. He was a member of RCAP’s senior leadership team, managing and securing multi-million dollar technical assistance and training programs and the Rural Economic Development and Events departments while at RCAP.

Prior to joining RCAP in 2016, Stiger was the Legislative Associate for the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), which represents local government-based regional development and planning organizations nationwide. He provided advocacy of NADO’s legislative priorities and policy development in the areas of rural community and economic development. Prior to that, he worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow.

Stiger’s experience also includes environmental advocacy, including drafting legislation that has been secured in multiple Farm Bills, appropriations measures, and the Water Resources Development Act. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Albion College.
